#2 - Music Making and Sustainable Futures with Dave Camlin

The International Journal of Community Music is a peer-reviewed journal on the theory and practice of participatory music-making.

In this episode, Dave Camlin discusses the importance of dialogue in music pedagogy, the role of sustainability in music making and professionalisation of community music.

We’re working together on this science communication podcast series, IJCM Conversations, to promote the IJCM’s ideas to a wider audience beyond academia.

The production team posts IJCM Conversations episodes on the Community Music Learning YouTube channel, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

We produce the series using professional remote production software, capturing professional audio despite hosts, guests and producer being on different continents.

Podcast series production management requires coordinated collaboration between the production team, hosts and guests.

As podcast producer, I coached the hosts on how to prepare the interviews with their guest. I manage the overall production workflow, conduct technical briefings with guests to get the best possible recordings from their setup, edit the podcasts, and collaborate with the production team on logistics and promotion.

IJCM Conversations is a long term project and Series 2 is currently in production.
